Then and Now: Danny Jasnow Edition

[Jasnow's senior portrait]

As part of the senior editorial staff for The Black & White -- Whitman's award-winning student newspaper -- Danny Jasnow spent much of his time at Whitman in pursuit of the truth. So it might not surprise you to hear that Jasnow (who goes by Dan these days) went on to study politics and American Literature at NYU before returning to the DC area to attend law school at Georgetown. Or that he went on to work on Jeanne Shaheen's Senatorial campaign (they won), which led to a coveted job on her senate staff. But maybe it will surprise you to hear that Dan's least favorite part of high school was hiding his own truth or, in his words, "pretending to be straight." Fortunately, Dan says, "[I] got it off my chest a while ago" and these days, he and his husband, Greg, are loving dads to their daughter, Lucy, who just started kindergarten. And if a career in politics and law doesn't seem impressive enough, Dan was also recently elected to the school board in Garrison, NY, where they moved in 2021 after living in the NE DC neighborhood of Brookland for five years.
